Audition Requirements
Students interested in participating in college auditions at ITF must meet the following requirements.
- Students must be inducted Thespians graduating in 2026 (rising seniors). Auditions are not open to students in other grades.
- Primary adult leaders must include the college auditions add-on as part of the student's ITF registration. College auditions require an additional $50 fee.
- Students must submit any required materials and a video audition by the May 14, 2025 deadline.
No refunds will be given due to cancellation or disqualification.
There is no limit to the number of students from a given troupe that may audition for colleges. However, students may audition in only one category: performance, technical theatre, or theatre education.
Students who have registered for college auditions will receive an email with instructions on how to submit their audition materials.

Students interested in pursuing technical theatre degrees after high school should submit a video discussing three (3) samples of work from their portfolio.
The video must be between three to five (3-5) minutes in total. Students must also submit PDFs or JPG images of the three (3) work samples, a current headshot and resume, and an optional written response to provide more context.
Technical Theatre Audition TipsTheatre Education Auditions
Students interested in pursuing a theatre education degree after high school should submit either a performance or technical theatre audition as listed above as well as a current headshot, resume, and a written response to the following prompt:
Consider the value of theatre education. Why have you chosen to pursue a career in this field?
- Elaborate on what skills, experiences, interests, and/or questions led you to choose this path.
- Discuss what you want to contribute to the field of theatre education.
Callbacks and Interviews
In the weeks leading up to ITF, college representatives attending in person will contact students directly to schedule interview times during college fair hours or for in-person and/or virtual callbacks. College representatives do not have access to audition videos until the beginning of June. It is important that students are registered with an email address where they can effectively receive communications (school email firewalls prevent many students from receiving outside messages; consider using an alternate email for ITF registration).
