Earlier this year, Joe Iconis (composer/lyrcist of the Broadway musical and phenomenon Be More Chill) & Family released Album, a collection of 44 songs. Joe is now conceiving and writing that concept into a live theatre piece, the song list of which will consist entirely of songs from Album. The musical is a collection of character songs from the point of view of criminals, monstrous creatures, house pets, automatons, artists, and other various weirdos. Think of it as a collection of short stories set to music.
Come and join this amazing team as they build an exciting new work! Participants selected will work with director and co-conceiver John Simpkins, head of the musical theatre program at Penn State University, to workshop and present the first public showcase of this brand-new musical for ITF attendees and composer, lyricist, and co-conceiver Joe Iconis! Rehearsals will be held throughout the week of ITF, with a staged reading on Friday, June 23.

We are casting 15 actors, all gender identities welcome! Performers should prepare a song that shows off their ability to be specific, honest, heartfelt, enthusiastic, and surprising. Any song (pop/rock, musical theatre, Iconis songs, non-Iconis songs, originals, etc.) that show off your personality in addition to your vocal range is encouraged.
