Volunteer Interest Form

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at ITF. Please complete this form to provide your information and indicate your areas of interest. Volunteers must be 21+ and registered for ITF. Volunteers must also complete a background check and safety training.

BACKstage Challenge

We are looking for adult volunteers to help with the Qualifying Rounds of the BACKstage Challenge. Volunteers will work with members of the Disney Live Entertainment team to time students in the six individual challenges. Please indicate your event interest when volunteering: lighting, audio, stage, costuming, rigging, or scenic!

Thespys

Thespy Adjudicator
Adjudicators evaluate student performances and technical submissions using established rubrics and provide constructive, educational feedback. Opportunities are available for botj in-person and virtual adjudication.Troupe directors are eligible to serve as adjudicators. Please note that directors will not be assigned to evaluate their own students.
A small stipend may be available for this role.

Showcase Backstage Assistance
Support the flow of Thespys showcases by assisting backstage. Duties may include helping performers navigate spaces, communicating with staff, and ensuring transitions run smoothly.

Greeters & Directional Support
Serve as a friendly, stationary presence at building entrances to help participants find performance rooms, showcase spaces, and other key locations.

Hall Monitors
Provide semi-roaming support in performance areas. Volunteers help maintain quiet hallways, answer questions, assist with schedule checks, and support a respectful performance environment.

Regalia Packing Support
Assist with preparing Thespys pins and regalia for distribution. Volunteers will help stuff envelopes and organize materials for pickup, ensuring awards are ready and accurately prepared.

Room Hosts
Support individual Thespys rooms by:

Keeping time
Managing room flow and transitions
Playing audio tracks for musical categories

Safety and Security

Must be registered with an All Inclusive Pass. Positions include:

Safety Captains

Work directly with ITF staff to ensure safety througout the event.

Residence Hall Captains

Assist with the nightly attendance process and serve as a point of contact in the event of a safety concern at assigned residence hall.

Many responsibilities in these roles occur around curfew/ Volunteers may be awake late into the night should a safety concern arise.
